What ends it
Downloading your design. That's the moment the free attempt closes.
We put the boundary there deliberately. Everything in the editor is inexpensive for us to run, so there's no reason to interrupt you partway through — you keep a good experience right up to the point where you walk away with a finished thumbnail you can actually publish.
After you download, saving new designs and uploading new assets will prompt you to upgrade.
What's not included
AI generation is not part of the free tier. AI concepts and AI thumbnail images both require Plus or above. Clicking generate on a free plan shows an upgrade prompt — it won't consume anything.
After the attempt
Upgrading to Plus unlocks unlimited designs and saves, plus 300 monthly AI credits for concepts, images, personas and Thumbnail Score. See [Plans compared](/plans-compared-free-plus-and-pro).
Your existing design isn't deleted when the attempt ends — upgrading picks up where you left off.
