The short answer
The outlier feed serves from vidfora's stored dataset — a large, pre-scored library of videos and channels. It's broad, but it isn't every video on YouTube, and it isn't updated the instant something is published.
If you need a specific channel right now, don't wait for the feed. That works on any public channel, whether or not it's in the dataset.
Common reasons something's missing
It's very recent. A video published in the last few hours may not have been picked up yet. It also hasn't accumulated enough views for a meaningful score.
The channel isn't in the dataset yet. Coverage grows continuously but isn't exhaustive. Live Analyze covers the gap.
Your filters are hiding it. By far the most common cause. A video below your minimum outlier score, outside your date range, in the other format, or in a different niche won't appear. Clear your filters and search for it directly before concluding it's absent.
It didn't overperform. A video scoring under your threshold is in the dataset — it just didn't clear the bar you set. Drop the minimum score to 1x to check.
It's not public. Private, unlisted, age-gated and region-blocked videos can't be read.
Tracking something that isn't in the dataset
You can track any YouTube channel by handle, whether or not it's in the dataset — vidfora pulls it in live. See [Track channels and folders](/track-channels-and-folders).
Data freshness
The outliers page shows when the dataset was last refreshed. Refreshes are ongoing rather than on a fixed public schedule, so numbers in the feed are recent but not real-time. Live Analyze is always current, because it reads YouTube at the moment you ask.
