Tracking is your watchlist: the channels you want to keep an eye on rather than re-find every time.
Adding a channel
Track a channel from its channel page, or from any video card. Tracked channels appear under Tracked.
You can track two kinds of channel:
- Channels already in vidfora's dataset
- Any YouTube channel, by handle — vidfora pulls it in live
That second one matters: you're not limited to channels we already cover. If you can name it, you can track it.
Folders
Group tracked channels into named folders with an emoji. Folders are how tracking stays useful once you're past a handful of channels.
Groupings that work:
- Direct competitors — same niche, similar size
- Aspirational — bigger channels in your lane
- Format references — channels you follow for how they make things, not what they make
- Adjacent niches — where your next audience might come from
Limits
| Plan | Tracked channels |
|---|---|
| Free | Up to 5 |
| Plus | Unlimited |
| Pro | Unlimited |
Five is enough to track your closest competitors. If you're doing genuine competitive research, you'll pass it quickly.
Alerts
Tracked channels can trigger alerts when they post something that beats their own baseline. See [Outlier alerts on tracked channels](/outlier-alerts-on-tracked-channels).
