The AI Coach is a chat surface at /coach — ask about your next video, your niche, your packaging, or why something flopped. Unlike a generic chatbot, it can see vidfora's scored outlier dataset, your saved channel handle, and the channels you track, so its advice is grounded in what's actually working in your niche.
What it's for
- Idea pressure-testing — "What should my next video be about?" gets answers built on your niche's real breakouts, not generic listicle advice.
- Post-mortems — "Why did my last video flop?" It reasons from outlier patterns: packaging, topic saturation, format fit.
- Niche strategy — crowdedness, adjacent niches worth testing, what the multiplier data says about where attention is moving.
- Packaging critique — title and thumbnail direction, with pointers into the rest of vidfora (Thumbnail Search, Studio, the generators) when a tool fits better than talk.
Deep think
The Deep think toggle puts the model into a slower, more thorough reasoning mode. Use it for big decisions — a niche pivot, a series plan — not quick questions. Deep answers cost more credits (the extra reasoning is real work), and the credit meter next to the composer always shows where you stand.
Credits
Every coach turn draws from your shared monthly AI credit balance — the same pool as thumbnails, titles, and scores. A normal turn costs a modest number of credits; a Deep-think turn costs several times more. You're only ever charged for what a turn actually used, and a failed turn is never charged. Conversations
Your conversation persists across visits and devices. New starts a fresh conversation; the coach keeps recent history in mind within a conversation, so it remembers what you told it about your channel.
Make it smarter about you
Two things sharpen the coach's answers:
- Set your channel handle (the "Outliers for @you" strip on the outlier feed) — if your channel is in the dataset, the coach sees your median views, your best outliers, and your subscriber count.
- Track your rivals — the coach can see your tracked channels list and will reason about your competitive set.
